Wanting to be more independent and free to travel and explore made him take his decisión in the summer of 2020! The very outgoing and multi talented Chef Volker Romeike began his illustrious food creating career when he was just 18-years old in his native country of Germany.
Romeike wanted a way out of the cold winters of Germany and by the time he was 22 years of age, he made that adventurous voyage out of Europe and started working in the Hotel industry at Hyatt Regency Los Angeles. Later San Diego, Puerto Rico and Hawaii, It was during this time that Volker learned to speak both English and Spanish. From there, he accepted a chef’s position with the Hyatt Hotel chain and journeyed to Cabo San Lucas in 1995 for the groundbreaking construction of Grand Hyatt Los Cabos, today known as Hacienda del Mar, where his rise as a much-esteemed chef began. And now his legendary career continues with his Mirai Restaurant in San Jose Del Cabo. An intimate and cozy location with a stellar menu where everything has such great flavor and where the local growers and fishermen bring their goods! His acevichado roll is a delicious fresh roll of avocado, cucumber, shrimp, octopus, fresh fish, coriander, red onion, Serrano pepper and his own Mirai sauce, just to name one dish!
Mirai Restaurant offers take out service and adheres to all the coronavirus protocols to insure the comfort and safety of both employees and their valued customers. The restaurant has terrace seating . outside seating and an air-conditioned main dining room. It´s featuring menú will include some of the old time favorites he was known for in the region!
