Los Cabos Children's Foundation – Changing the World, One Child at a Time

Non-profit organization dedicated to promote, fund, monitor and strengthen programs that have a focus on health for children in Baja California Sur, Mexico. OUR GOALS
Identify new health needs in our community, to find a way to approach a solution. Raise the level of efficacy of the programs we support, so they can be sustainable long-term. Increase awareness in our community, that can generate more donations, especially from local socially responsible companies. Strengthen our leadership role in health and children’s issues, to advocate for public policy that allows a greater impact of our programs and the well-being of BCS children. The idea of the Los Cabos Children’s Foundation was born in 2002, thanks to Tom Walsh’s genuine desire to help children with cancer who lived in Los Cabos and had no options in the state of Baja California Sur where they could receive treatment. He never imagined then that his initiative, generosity, and commitment to help these children, would benefit thousands more in the 15 years that have passed.
After more than 60 children were treated in medical programs outside our state borders, our story evolved. In 2012, we were finally able to give the children from Los Cabos and all of Baja California Sur the opportunity to be treated locally. We currently support the pediatric oncology, cardiology and intensive care programs at Salvatierra General Hospital in La Paz, in a successful model of cooperation between the government and the community represented by non-profits. Also, since 2006, we continue to be a source of support for local organizations that do their part in children’s health.
